Something New

Hi, friends!

There has been so much to take place since the last time I blogged. I have been asking for God’s renewal, inspiration, and motivation in what to write to you about along with the time to do that. Today I want to just be real with you, and let you see more of my heart. I pray that this post will help, motivate, encourage, and inspire you to be who God has made you to be.

Since the month of March, Jesus has been teaching me so much about the power of Godly community and friendships. There are so many different types of people who are in our lives, but we choose our core friend group. God has made us all different, and that is a beautiful thing, but what’s also beautiful is connecting with other believers who are filled with so much passion, love, excitement, and grace. Someone who sees Jesus in you, and knows you both have something in common that’s greater than anything in this world. Someone who wants to know you personally, invest into you, encourage you, be real with you, pray for you, and use your gifts to build each other. When God places these special people in our lives, there will be joy bursting out of our souls. Maybe that sounds like a bit much, but special Godly friendships are one of the most rewarding things we have in this life. God stirs revival in us whenever we are surrounding ourselves with these people.

Another thing that is so important is being real. We are going to have times where we feel like we can go out and live with abandon for Christ, being so on fire for Him, and then there’s times where we are spiritually tired. We need Godly friends, but we also need to be a Godly friend. I’m learning that pretty much everything revolves around love. Love for God and then love one to another. Without knowing Christ personally, experiencing His love, and loving Him we aren’t fully prepared to love His people. Loving the lovable is easy, but it’s blessing the ones who curse us that take real love. To be all God has called us to be takes continual sacrifice, time, and commitment. We have to make sure we are filling ourselves up with God and letting Him change us.

Instead of looking for the negative things going on in our world, let’s start looking at the positive. God is at work, and when we open our eyes to that, we find motivation to keep living on mission. Let’s be different, authentic, and show love in a way that confuses people.

I have been so blessed with ministry opportunities this year, and God has been showing me Himself through each one. I am discovering that ministry is something I’m so passionate about, and want to do with my life. Everyday has so many opportunities to be God’s hands and feet, and our time is short. Whether that’s our life, other’s lives, or just time in general. We need to make sure we are focusing and investing into things that are going to make a difference for eternity.

I challenge us to cling to: what is good this week, surround ourselves with Godly community, invest in Godly friendships, strive to put love in action, be filled with Christ, grow in our relationships with Him, and keep persevering. Never give up. God is with you, and you are more than a conqueror in Him.

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:9-12
