Eternal Encouragement & Good Hope

God is teaching me that His love for me doesn’t depend on my behavior, how much time I spend with Him, or how much I’m serving.

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” -Colossians 3:1-4

As believers, it’s important for us to remember that God has changed us. He has given us life and a purpose. Without Christ, we are dead and live in darkness. We find life, love, joy, and peace by coming to know Jesus in a personal way.

We have the choice of what we feed. We’re either going to feed our flesh or we’re going to feed our spirits. Just because we’re saved doesn’t mean that the flesh goes away. It’s something that we have to fight daily and make a decision not to feed. It can be as simple as the first thing we do in the mornings. This is something I’ve been convicted about lately. It’s easy to hop on social media, but I know God desires and deserves the very first part of my day.

“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” -2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Because of Christ, we have eternal encouragement and good hope. You have eternal encouragement and good hope. Let that encourage your heart.

Loved one, I pray you will receive peace tonight. When you seek God, He will meet you right where you are at. Come to Him with yourself, your worries, your concerns, your fears, your mistakes, and your hurt. God is the Author and Giver of life. He is life and I pray that you experience Jesus’ love to the fullest. Let’s rid ourselves of the flesh daily and invest into what points us closer to Jesus.
