God prodded my heart in Arby’s yesterday afternoon.
The young woman who stood behind the cash register had a life I knew pretty much nothing about.
God wanted me to be meaningful with my encounter with her.
As she swept the floor and cleaned up the restaurant, she needed to know she was loved and appreciated. The work she was doing mattered. She may have been overlooked at home or school, but God knew her by name!
Walking beside her as she was cleaning, I simply, but intentionally said, “Thank you for all you do!”
I questioned if I was supposed to say more, but my short sentence had a powerful impact on the girl. I could tell she was not used to hearing comments of appreciation.
Her response to me was “Thank you for being so nice!”

God didn’t overlook the young woman working at Arby’s and He does not overlook you. He sees you exactly where you are at. The way that you are currently living your life matters.
If Jesus is breathing inside of you, you have such power and authority through Him! Satan trembles as you keep taking steps towards God and in ministry.
The way that you are living matters. God sees you. His eye is on you. You matter to Him. Your life has eternal value and worth!
Jesus longs for you. He wants you to be close to Him.
God sees you as you doodle in class.
He knows your thoughts at ball practice.
He holds your heart and all that it longs for.
Jesus is reminding you that the work you are doing is important.
The long days and short nights do not go unnoticed.
Both followers of Jesus and lost people look to you. You give them Hope of Something (Someone) greater. You bring joy, peace, purity, and laughter to a conversation. Your peers honor and respect you for your faith. Whether they admit it or not, you are leaving God’s fingerprints on their hearts. God is using you to reach them for Him.
Do not let Satan steal what God has given you. Do not be distracted by unfulfilled longings or requests. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
Do not tremble in fear. March on boldly.
Walk into new places and watch God’s plan unfold.
You are a light of God. You reflect Him. You are not here for yourself.
Who has God placed in your life to touch for Him?
I believe Jesus would be accepted more often if we chose to share His love in tangible ways each day of our lives.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.” -Hebrews 12:1-3 NLT
