Immeasurably More

The season of life I am currently in is sweet. It is full of the most unexpected blessings, the faithfulness of God, and tough questions. I am constantly bringing my messy heart before God and asking Him to make me clean. Here lately, I have been seeking Jesus for purity and holiness. I am asking Him to guard my heart and guide my steps. God’s plans for us are good. They are never to harm us. Rather, they are to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We can do all things because He is the One Who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13). We are not going to grow tired or weary in doing good. We are going to reap a harvest at the proper time if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Never forget that God hears your prayers! Recently, our Father astounded me by revealing how involved He is in the details of my life. Jesus doesn’t miss a thing, my friend! He is listening to our conversations and pays attention to the desires of our hearts. 

Jesus has also been reminding me that things full of comfort aren’t necessarily His best. If God is leading you into a new season full of unknowns, I greatly urge you to keep following Him. Psalm 16:11 (NIV) says, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” 

I could never fully express how thankful I am for this new chapter of my life. I had always dreamed of graduating from the school I grew up in. As a little girl, I envisioned myself being on the homecoming court senior year. As our precious Father urged my heart to follow His lead at the end of last year, I exchanged my good for His best. Wow! I could never tell you how good our Father’s plans are, brother or sister! This has been the absolute best school year of my life. It has been the most amazing and surprising experience. During the summer, I was truly focused on Liberty and graduating from high school. To be honest with you, I wasn’t planning on forming heartfelt connections my senior year. God has really blown me away! He has woven together the most beautiful story to give Him the most glory.

There are a few little lessons of great impact that I want to share with you. 

1. Permissible vs. Beneficial

This lesson took a while for me to learn. Jesus actually revealed the thought to me through multiple books and magazines.

1 Corinthians 10:23 (CSB) says, ““Everything is permissible,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible,” but not everything builds up.”

Permissible things are okay. They aren’t necessarily bad. In fact, permissible things are allowed. 

Beneficial things, though, are helpful, good for us, edifying, and worth our time. People who are beneficial accomplish things far greater than themselves. I believe that all beneficial people and things have Jesus at their core. Are all of our decisions, conversations, and actions revolving around Him? Are we seeking to make God’s power known? 

Instead of choosing what we can get by with, Jesus has called us to fill our lives with people and things that will give Him the most glory! I long for the relationships in my life to be beneficial. I want God’s best. I don’t want what is easy or okay. Why settle for less when Jesus has given us the most extraordinary lives possible?

2. Immeasurably More

Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) exclaims, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,”

Jesus is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask for, dream of, think of, or imagine. I don’t know about you, but my dreams can get crazy at times! Yet, our Jesus is able to do far more than we can even imagine. Why do we underestimate His power so often, my friend? We trust Jesus to meet our daily needs. Why do we doubt what He can do in the desires of our hearts? The dreams and desires placed within you are not by accident. You never know how God is going to use your gifts and skills to bring you closer to Him, give Him more glory, and point countless people closer to His love! Never give in to the enemy’s lies that whisper doubt and disbelief to you. Our God is a God of clarity. Chaos never comes from Him.

I pray that you realize there is always more of Jesus for us to discover. We could never run out of things to thank God for. How is your heart doing tonight? What do you need to lay down at Jesus’ feet? It is time to stop believing Satan’s lies. Claim and declare God’s Truth over your heart, mind, and life.

God has been with you every step you have taken. He will never leave your side. 

Cling onto our faithful Father and Friend. He isn’t scared of your mess. Jesus longs to make you clean.

  1. Haley, with every post I read of yours I believe that God truly has His hands on you and has chosen you for great things. Continue to seek His will and guidance for your life. You will definitely be a light to others in this dark world.
