What does loving deeply mean to you in your life? I think our culture promotes the lie that you can’t love someone unless you are boyfriend or girlfriend with them. The Bible clearly states that we are all commanded to love everyone. Let’s take a look at what loving deeply really look like.
There’s a person that we all have in our lives. The one who doesn’t have the nicest clothes, and doesn’t smell or behave like we do. The easiest thing would be to just ignore them, but we are called to do so much more than that.
We’re called to be the person who makes love a verb rather than noun. To spread kindness everywhere we go; and to show love through our: words, actions, and lives. To practice humility by putting their needs before our own, and not caring about what others will think of us. Most likely these people in our lives are desperately thirsting for love and attention. We should offer friendship, and let them know that we care about them through listening to what they have to say and just by being there. There is no greater way to lead them to the greatest Love than by showing them what love really looks like.
This week I want to challenge you to look for opportunities each day to spread love to the people in your life you were thinking about while reading this. You shine bright, my friend! Never stop loving or serving those around you!
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” -Matthew 25:40
“The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”” -Mark 12:31
